How will the start pens be allocated for the Half Marathon (HM)
To ensure a smooth and safe race experience for everyone, participants will be allocated into start pens as follows:
PEN 1: Dedicated to athletes who provide an official race timing record during registration. This helps faster runners begin at the front to avoid congestion.
PEN 2 onwards: All other participants will be placed according to the order of registration. Early registrants will be assigned to PEN 2, followed by PEN 3, and so on.
This system ensures that every runner enjoys a fair and well-organized start, while also giving priority placement to those who require faster pacing zones.

1. Where is the main venue of Terengganu Marathon 2026?

2. What does “Uncontested” category mean?
It means the run is non-competitive with no official podium. Participants run for enjoyment, fitness, and the event experience, not for rankings or prize money.
3. Which categories are Uncontested in Terengganu Marathon?
All 10km, 5km, 2km, and 1km participants are in Foreigner Uncontested categories. Only the 21KM International category is a competitive race.
4. Is there any podium or cash prize for Uncontested categories?
No. There are no official podium places and no cash prizes for Uncontested categories.
5. Will my timing be recorded in the Uncontested category?
Timing may be provided for personal reference, but it will not be used for official podium ranking because the category is non-competitive.
6. Do Uncontested runners still receive medal and jersey?
Yes, Uncontested participants are still eligible for event entitlements such as event jersey and finisher medal upon completing the run, subject to the entitlements listed in the registration details.
7. What are the race categories offered?
Terengganu Marathon 2026 offers various categories including 42KM, 21KM, 10KM, 5KM, 2KM Kids Dash, and 1KM Kid Flash. Each category is divided into multiple age and gender groups.
8. Who can participate in this event?
The event is open to all Malaysian citizens, residents, and international participants who meet the age requirement of the respective category.
9. Will runners receive an official event t-shirt?
Yes, runners who register for a package with shirt will receive an official event t-shirt or Muslimah shirt or singlet, depending on their selection and eligibility by category.
10. Where and when is the race kit collection?
Race Kit Collection will be held at Stadium Tertutup Gong Badak in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu.
30 April 2026: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
1 May 2026: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
No race kit collection will be available after this period time.
11. Can I change my shirt size after registration?
No, shirt size cannot be changed after the registration is confirmed. Please ensure the correct size is selected before completing your registration.
12. How do I register?
Participants can register online through the official website of Terengganu Marathon 2026 terengganumarathon.com . Select your preferred category, fill in your details, choose your race kit package, and complete the payment.
13. Is this event suitable for children and families?
Yes, the event includes family-friendly categories such as the 2KM Kids Dash and 1KM Kid Flash, which are open to children with parental supervision.
14. What if I am unable to attend the event after registering?
Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. No changes will be entertained once the registration is completed.
15. What if I don’t collect my race kit on collection days?
Participants who fail to collect their race kit during the official collection period will be considered to have forfeited their entitlement. No race kits will be distributed after the collection dates. You may authorize someone to collect on your behalf by providing a copy of your IC/passport and your confirmation slip. All race kits must be collected by 6:00 PM on 1 May 2026.
16. When will race kits be shipped?
Race kits will begin shipping one month before the event date for participants who choose postage.
17. What size will the finisher shirt be?
The size of your finisher shirt will follow the size of the event tee you selected during registration.
18. What style is the finisher shirt?
The finisher shirt is only available in t-shirt style. There are no singlet or Muslimah shirt options for finisher shirts.
19. Can a runner register for different race categories in the same event
Yes, a runner may register for different categories in Terengganu Marathon 2026 as long as the runner fulfills the eligibility criteria for each category. Please ensure to follow the specific rules outlined by the event organizers for each category registration.
